# Google Chrome: memory bug in Performance lets web page run code

Google Chrome before 156.0.8078.47 has a use-after-free bug in its Performance component. A remote attacker can run arbitrary code inside the browser sandbox by getting a user to open a crafted HTML page.

_Summary, check and fix written by a model from the sources; labelled as such._

## Affected

- vendor:google chrome affected < 156.0.8087.47 fixed 156.0.8087.47

## How to check

Check the installed Chrome version (chrome://version) against the fixed release. The sources disagree on the fixed build number (156.0.8078.47 vs 156.0.8087.47).

## Fix

Update Google Chrome to 156.0.8087.47 or later, or to 156.0.8078.47 if that is the correct fixed build.

## Timeline

- 2026-10-23T21:57:25+00:00 nvd https://nvd.nist.gov/vuln/detail/CVE-2026-113344

## From the sources

Use after free in Performance in Google Chrome prior to 156.0.8078.47 allowed a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code inside the sandbox via a crafted HTML page. (Chromium security severity: Medium)
