# Chrome: SiteIsolation use-after-free lets a crafted web page run code

A use-after-free bug in Chrome's SiteIsolation component lets a remote attacker run code inside the browser sandbox by serving a crafted HTML page. The attacker needs the victim to open that page, and the sandbox limits what they get beyond that.

_Summary, check and fix written by a model from the sources; labelled as such._

## How to check

Run chrome://version in the browser and compare the version with 156.0.8078.47.

## Fix

Update Google Chrome to 156.0.8078.47 or later.

## Timeline

- 2026-10-23T21:57:23+00:00 nvd https://nvd.nist.gov/vuln/detail/CVE-2026-113079

## From the sources

Use after free in SiteIsolation in Google Chrome prior to 156.0.8078.47 allowed a remote attacker to potentially execute arbitrary code inside the sandbox via a crafted HTML page. (Chromium security severity: Medium)
