# OpenCATS: low-privileged users can roll back imports and delete records

OpenCATS before 0.10.0 does not check authorization in the import handler, so a user with read-only access can call the import revert action. That lets them mass-delete imported candidate, company and contact records.

_Summary, check and fix written by a model from the sources; labelled as such._

## How to check

- Check the installed OpenCATS version; affected if it is below `0.10.0`
- Review which accounts hold READ-level access in the OpenCATS user settings

## Fix

- Upgrade OpenCATS to `0.10.0` or later
- Until upgraded, restrict READ-level accounts from reaching the import module

## Timeline

## From the sources

OpenCATS before 0.10.0 contains a missing authorization vulnerability in ImportUI::handleRequest() that allows low-privileged authenticated users to roll back data imports. Attackers with READ-level access can request the import module's revert action with an importID to mass-delete imported candidate, company, and contact records.
