# Apple: missing entitlement checks let an app read the Photos Library

Apple's advisory says a malicious or compromised app can access a user's Photos Library because an entitlement check was missing. The fix adds the check in newer iOS, iPadOS, macOS and visionOS releases.

## How to check

- Compare the device OS version with the fixed releases in the sources, such as `iOS 26.7.2` or `macOS Tahoe 26.7.2`
- Review which installed apps hold Photos Library access in Settings > Privacy & Security > Photos

## Fix

- Update macOS Tahoe to `26.7.2`, macOS Sequoia to `15.8.2`, or macOS Golden Gate to `27.2`
- Update visionOS to `27.2`
