# Apple iOS and macOS: a local app can bypass some privacy preferences

Apple's fix addresses an authorization flaw that lets an app bypass certain Privacy preferences on iOS, iPadOS, macOS and visionOS. An attacker gets access to data or features the user had denied to the app, but the sources do not say which data.

_Summary, check and fix written by a model from the sources; labelled as such._

## How to check

- Check the device version in Settings > General > About (or `sw_vers -productVersion` on macOS) and compare with the fixed versions named in the fix.

## Fix

- Update iOS and iPadOS to `26.7.2` or `27.2`
- Update macOS Tahoe to `26.7.2`, macOS Sequoia to `15.8.2`, or macOS Golden Gate to `27.2`
- Update visionOS to `27.2`
