# Safari and Apple OS: type confusion lets crafted web content run code

A type confusion flaw in WebKit-based Safari and several Apple operating systems can be triggered by maliciously crafted web content. Successful exploitation may lead to arbitrary code execution.

_Summary, check and fix written by a model from the sources; labelled as such._

## How to check

- Check the installed Safari version and OS build under Settings > General > About on iOS, iPadOS, visionOS, or About This Mac on macOS.
- Compare against the fixed versions: Safari `27.2`, iOS `26.7.2` and `27.2`, iPadOS `26.7.2` and `27.2`, macOS Golden Gate `27.2`, visionOS `27.2`.

## Fix

- Update Safari to `27.2` or later.
- Update iOS and iPadOS to `26.7.2` or `27.2`, macOS Golden Gate to `27.2`, and visionOS to `27.2`.

## From the sources

A type confusion issue was addressed with improved memory handling. This issue is fixed in Safari 27.2, iOS 26.7.2 and iPadOS 26.7.2, iOS 27.2 and iPadOS 27.2, macOS Golden Gate 27.2, visionOS 27.2. Processing maliciously crafted web content may lead to arbitrary code execution.
