# Apple iOS and macOS: image parsing can leak process memory

An uninitialized memory issue in Apple's image handling lets a maliciously crafted image disclose process memory. The fix ships in iOS 26.7.2, iPadOS 26.7.2, iOS 27.2, iPadOS 27.2, macOS Golden Gate 27.2, macOS Sequoia 15.8.2 and macOS Tahoe 26.7.2.

_Summary, check and fix written by a model from the sources; labelled as such._

## How to check

- Check the device version under Settings > General > About on iOS and iPadOS, or Apple menu > About This Mac on macOS.
- Compare against the fixed builds: `26.7.2` or `27.2` on iOS and iPadOS, `15.8.2` on macOS Sequoia, `26.7.2` on macOS Tahoe, `27.2` on macOS Golden Gate.

## Fix

- Update iOS and iPadOS to `26.7.2` or `27.2`.
- Update macOS Tahoe to `26.7.2`, macOS Sequoia to `15.8.2`, or macOS Golden Gate to `27.2`.
