# Apple iOS and macOS: crafted 3D model causes memory corruption on open

An integer overflow in Apple's 3D model processing lets a maliciously crafted 3D model corrupt memory on affected devices. The advisory does not say whether this allows code execution, but memory corruption on this class of bug is commonly the first step toward it.

## Fix

- Update iOS and iPadOS to 26.7 or 27.2 (or later)
- Update macOS Tahoe to 26.7.2, macOS Sequoia to 15.8.2, or macOS Golden Gate to 27.2
- Update visionOS to 27.2

An integer overflow was addressed with improved input validation. This issue is fixed in iOS 26.7 and iPadOS 26.7, iOS 27.2 and iPadOS 27.2, macOS Golden Gate 27.2, macOS Sequoia 15.8.2, macOS Tahoe 26.7.2, visionOS 27.2. Processing a maliciously crafted 3D model may lead to memory corruption.
