# Apple OS: missing entitlement checks let an app read sensitive user data

Apple patched a flaw in several of its operating systems where missing entitlement checks let an app reach sensitive user data it should not see. The sources do not describe the affected component or the exact access path.

_Summary, check and fix written by a model from the sources; labelled as such._

## How to check

- Check the OS version on each Apple device (Settings > General > About, or `sw_vers -productVersion` on macOS)
- Compare the result with the fixed versions listed in the fix section

## Fix

- Update iOS and iPadOS to `27.2` or later
- Update macOS Sequoia to `15.8` or later, macOS Tahoe to `26.7` or later, and macOS Golden Gate to `27.2` or later
- Update tvOS, visionOS and watchOS to `27.2` or later

## Timeline
