# Apple: 3D model processing can leak process memory on iOS and macOS

Apple's OS releases fix an out-of-bounds read that occurs when a 3D model is processed. An attacker who supplies a crafted 3D model can read process memory, which may expose sensitive data.

_Summary, check and fix written by a model from the sources; labelled as such._

## Fix

- Update iOS and iPadOS to `26.7.2` or `27.2`
- Update macOS Tahoe to `26.7.2`, macOS Sequoia to `15.8.2`, or macOS Golden Gate to `27.2`
- Update tvOS and visionOS to `27.2`

## Timeline

## From the sources

An out-of-bounds read was addressed with improved bounds checking. This issue is fixed in iOS 26.7.2 and iPadOS 26.7.2, iOS 27.2 and iPadOS 27.2, macOS Golden Gate 27.2, macOS Sequoia 15.8.2, macOS Tahoe 26.7.2, tvOS 27.2, visionOS 27.2. Processing a 3D model may result in disclosure of process memory.
