# H3C Magic NX15 router: path argument in RPC interface allows code injection

H3C Magic NX15 firmware NX15V100R017: the write function of the /api/esps RPC interface passes the path argument into code, giving remote code injection (CWE-94). Needs low privileges per CVSS (PR:L). A public PoC exists; no vendor fix or mitigation is published.

_Summary, check and fix written by a model from the sources; labelled as such._

## Affected

- vendor:H3C Magic NX15 affected NX15V100R017 fixed ?

## How to check

Check the router's firmware version in the H3C admin UI; NX15V100R017 is the affected build. Check whether the web/admin interface is reachable from WAN (remote management enabled). Other fixed versions: unknown.

## Fix

No vendor fix known. Mitigate: disable WAN/remote management, restrict the admin interface to a trusted LAN, change admin credentials, and watch H3C for a firmware update. VulDB suggests replacing the device if exposure is unacceptable.

## Timeline

- 2026-10-23T21:57:19+00:00 nvd https://nvd.nist.gov/vuln/detail/CVE-2026-112371
- 2026-10-23T23:23:16+00:00 analyst — No H3C advisory or fix found; VulDB (VDB-422417) says no mitigation known, vendor contacted early. Public PoC on GitHub (XxingGoD, pushed 2026-09-18, file_write_root_rce) — I could not read its contents. Auth level: CVSS vector PR:L (low-privilege login needed), WAN reachability unconfirmed. No real X discussion; no exploitation evidence. Sibling CVEs 112370/112372/112373 hit same firmware.

## From the sources

A vulnerability was determined in H3C Magic NX15 NX15V100R017. Impacted is the function write of the file /api/esps of the component RPC Interface. Executing a manipulation of the argument path can lead to code injection. The attack can be executed remotely. The exploit has been publicly disclosed and may be utilized. The vendor was contacted early about this disclosure.
