# Clawhost reverse proxy lets attackers redirect users to arbitrary sites

The handleRequest function in clawhost's reverse proxy does not validate the token argument, enabling an open redirect. An attacker can send a crafted link that sends a victim to a site of the attacker's choosing.

_Summary, check and fix written by a model from the sources; labelled as such._

## How to check

- Check whether the project is in use and which version is installed, versions up to `0.0.45` are listed as affected
- Review `apps/clawhostgo/src/main/services/reverseProxy.ts` for the handleRequest token handling

## Timeline

- 2026-10-23T21:57:19+00:00 nvd https://nvd.nist.gov/vuln/detail/CVE-2026-112251

## From the sources

A vulnerability was detected in antoinersx clawhost up to 0.0.45. This affects the function handleRequest of the file apps/clawhostgo/src/main/services/reverseProxy.ts of the component Reverse Proxy. Performing a manipulation of the argument token results in open redirect. The attack can be initiated remotely. The exploit is now public and may be used. The vendor was contacted early about this disclosure but did not respond in any way.
