# Criminal-Management-System: SQL injection in officer registration form

A PHP student-style web project, vraj404 Criminal-Management-System, passes officer form fields such as offName, contact and role into SQL queries in Officers/addOfficer.php without safe handling. A remote attacker can read or change the project's database through that form.

_Summary, check and fix written by a model from the sources; labelled as such._

## How to check

- Check whether the deployment includes `Officers/addOfficer.php` in the web root
- Compare the repository commit with `2808d057e7ddc5295519a487365b0cacfd0ba8c4`; the sources say the project is rolling release with no version numbers
- unknown for other checks

## Fix

- unknown: the sources say the project has not responded and gives no fixed release
- Until a patch exists, block or remove `Officers/addOfficer.php` from public access and move the form behind authentication

## Timeline

- 2026-10-23T21:57:18+00:00 nvd https://nvd.nist.gov/vuln/detail/CVE-2026-112153

## From the sources

A vulnerability was detected in vraj404 Criminal-Management-System up to 2808d057e7ddc5295519a487365b0cacfd0ba8c4. This affects the function mysqli_error of the file Officers/addOfficer.php of the component Officer Registration Form. Performing a manipulation of the argument offName/offID/ID/contact/gender/weapon/role results in sql injection. It is possible to initiate the attack remotely. The exploit is now public and may be used. This product is using a rolling release to provide continious delivery. Therefore, no version details for affected nor updated releases are available. The project was informed of the problem early through an issue report but has not responded yet.
