# SafeNet Authentication Client: race condition lets local user delete protected files

A time-of-check to time-of-use race in the SafeNet Authentication Client log-cleanup routine lets a logged-in non-admin local user redirect a privileged file deletion outside the log directory. An attacker can use this to delete files the service should not touch.

_Summary, check and fix written by a model from the sources; labelled as such._

## How to check

- Check the installed SafeNet Authentication Client version against the affected range (releases up to and including `10.9 R3 GA`, build `10.9.7449`)

## Fix

- Move past `10.9 R3 GA` (build `10.9.7449`); the fixed version is not stated in the sources

## Timeline

- 2026-11-05T18:40:09+00:00 nvd https://nvd.nist.gov/vuln/detail/CVE-2026-112110

## From the sources

A time-of-check to time-of-use race condition in the SafeNet Authentication Client (SAC) SACSrv log-cleanup function can allow an authenticated, non-administrator local user to redirect a privileged file deletion operation outside the intended log
directory.

This issue affects SAC releases up to and including 10.9 R3 GA (build 10.9.7449).
