# Chamilo LMS: ticket project name field allows cross-site scripting

A flaw in the Chamilo LMS ticket module's TicketManager::addProject function does not sanitize the Name argument, so injected script can run in a user's browser. The exploit is publicly disclosed, and the NVD entry rates it medium (CVSS 4.0).

_Summary, check and fix written by a model from the sources; labelled as such._

## How to check

- Confirm the installed Chamilo version with the admin dashboard or `composer show` in the Chamilo root, and compare it to `1.11.40`, `2.0.3` or `3.0.1`.
- Check that the Ticket module is enabled in the admin settings.
- Look for the patched function in `main/inc/lib/TicketManager.php`.

## Fix

- Upgrade Chamilo LMS to a release newer than `1.11.40`, `2.0.3` or `3.0.1`, or apply the upstream commits 6dfa0f4de45afc1b27333304b4cd4532db478f74, dd3e4d32971efca4197eb2df97f69de25a786e3c, 119773d45c31da53b44cbfdb3f4910bc983cc7b0 and cb6fe2127e587603451c609b4ed78c0293fcc3fa.
- If patching is not possible now, disable the Ticket module until it is.
