# GiveWP WordPress plugin lets report-only users edit donor addresses

The GiveWP donation plugin for WordPress does not check permissions when donor addresses are changed. A user who only has donor-report view access can add, modify or delete the stored address of any donor on the site.

_Summary, check and fix written by a model from the sources; labelled as such._

## How to check

- Check the installed GiveWP version in the WordPress admin plugin list or with `wp plugin get give --field=version`
- Review which user roles have donor-report access in the GiveWP settings

## Fix

- Update the GiveWP plugin to `4.19.0.1` or later
- Review donor-report role grants until the update is applied

## Timeline

- 2026-10-25T06:36:35+00:00 nvd https://nvd.nist.gov/vuln/detail/CVE-2026-111981

## From the sources

The GiveWP WordPress plugin before 4.19.0.1 does not perform a capability check when handling donor address changes, allowing users who have been granted donor-report (view) access but not donor-edit access to add, modify, or delete the stored address of any donor on the site.
