# Royal MCP WordPress plugin: search tool leaks non-public post content to subscribers

The Royal MCP WordPress plugin before 1.5.10 has a search tool that skips object-level and post-type authorisation checks. An authenticated user with a low-privilege role such as subscriber can read the title and content of non-public entries, including personal data.

_Summary, check and fix written by a model from the sources; labelled as such._

## How to check

- Check the installed Royal MCP plugin version in the WordPress admin Plugins screen or with `wp plugin get royal-mcp --field=version` (unknown whether that slug is exact)
- Confirm whether any subscriber-level accounts can reach the plugin's MCP search tool

## Fix

- Update the Royal MCP WordPress plugin to `1.5.10` or later
- Review who holds accounts on the site and remove unneeded subscriber accounts until the update is applied

## Timeline

- 2026-10-28T06:31:27+00:00 nvd https://nvd.nist.gov/vuln/detail/CVE-2026-111960

## From the sources

The Royal MCP WordPress plugin before 1.5.10 does not perform object-level or post-type authorisation checks in one of its search tools, allowing authenticated users such as a subscriber to disclose the title and content of non-public entries, including personal data stored by a companion Royal MCP WordPress plugin before 1.5.10.
