# Dell OpenManage Enterprise: low-privilege users can run OS commands remotely

Dell OpenManage Enterprise versions before 4.8.0 have an OS command injection flaw. A low-privileged attacker with remote access can use it to run commands on the management server.

_Summary, check and fix written by a model from the sources; labelled as such._

## How to check

- Check the installed OpenManage Enterprise version in the appliance console or web interface; `unknown` for the exact path in the sources
- Compare the reported version against `4.8.0`

## Fix

- Dell OpenManage Enterprise: move to `4.8.0` or later

## Timeline

- 2026-10-30T12:30:22+00:00 nvd https://nvd.nist.gov/vuln/detail/CVE-2026-111505

## From the sources

Dell OpenManage Enterprise, versions prior to 4.8.0, contains an Improper Neutralization of Special Elements used in an OS Command ('OS Command Injection') vulnerability. A low privileged attacker with remote access could potentially exploit this vulnerability, leading to Command execution.
