# Frappe HRMS: SQL injection lets logged-in users read database data

Frappe HRMS versions before 14.38.2, 15.64.0 and 16.18.0 have SQL injection in some endpoints because input is not validated. Any logged-in user, including low-privilege accounts, can send crafted requests to extract sensitive data from the database.

_Summary, check and fix written by a model from the sources; labelled as such._

## How to check

- Check the installed HRMS version in the app, for example with `bench version` or the `hrms` entry in the apps list, and compare it to the fixed releases.
- unknown for the exact vulnerable endpoints; the sources do not list them.

## Fix

- Upgrade Frappe HRMS to `14.38.2` on the 14.x line, `15.64.0` on the 15.x line, or `16.18.0` on the 16.x line.

## Timeline

## From the sources

Frappe HRMS 14.x before 14.38.2, 15.x before 15.64.0, and 16.x before 16.18.0 contains a SQL injection vulnerability in some endpoints caused by missing input validation. Any authenticated attacker, including a low-privilege account, can send specially crafted requests to these endpoints to extract sensitive information from the database.
