# WordPress asVereinbase plugin: unauthenticated login as any user, including admins

The asVereinbase WordPress plugin before 1.1.8 accepts an empty stored value as a valid password or second factor during login. An unauthenticated attacker can log in as any user, including an administrator.

_Summary, check and fix written by a model from the sources; labelled as such._

## How to check

- Check the installed version of the asVereinbase plugin in the WordPress admin under Plugins; versions before `1.1.8` are affected.
- Look for the plugin directory `wp-content/plugins/asvereinbase` on the server.

## Fix

- Update the asVereinbase plugin to `1.1.8` or later.
- If you cannot update, deactivate the plugin and review admin accounts for unexpected logins.

## Timeline

- 2026-10-24T06:47:03+00:00 nvd https://nvd.nist.gov/vuln/detail/CVE-2026-110956

## From the sources

The asVereinbase WordPress plugin before 1.1.8 does not require a valid password or a genuine second factor before authenticating a user, treating an empty stored value as a match, so an unauthenticated attacker can log in as any user, including an administrator.
