# Langflow: path traversal lets signed-in users read sensitive files

IBM Langflow OSS 1.0.0 through 1.12.4 does not keep file paths inside their intended directory. A logged-in attacker can use this to obtain sensitive information from the server.

_Summary, check and fix written by a model from the sources; labelled as such._

## Affected

- pypi:langflow affected >= 1.0.0, <= 1.12.4 fixed 1.12.5

## How to check

Run 'pip show langflow' or 'langflow --version'; any version from 1.0.0 to 1.12.4 is affected, 1.12.5 or later is fixed. Anyone with a login on the instance can reach the flaw.

## Fix

Upgrade Langflow OSS to 1.12.5 (pip install -U 'langflow>=1.12.5'); back up the install and test flows first.

- 2026-10-29T16:30:42+00:00 analyst — IBM bulletin (node/7293016, 19 Oct 2026) lists this CVE, affected 1.0.0-1.12.4, fix 1.12.5. No feature gate or workaround stated for this CVE; the MCP stdio env settings in the bulletin are for other CVEs. IBM scores it 6.5 but gives a vector that computes to 8.8; severity left unchanged. No exploitation or PoC found; no X search done. Sibling path traversal CVE-2026-110190 is in the same bulletin.

## From the sources

IBM Langflow OSS 1.0.0 through 1.12.4 could allow a remote authenticated attacker to obtain sensitive information due to improper limitation of a pathname to a restricted directory.
