# Smush WordPress plugin: site admins can change network-wide settings on multisite

Before version 4.3.4, the Smush WordPress plugin lets an administrator of a single site on a multisite network change a network-wide access setting that should only be changed by network administrators. The change then applies to the entire network.

_Summary, check and fix written by a model from the sources; labelled as such._

## How to check

- Check the installed Smush version in the WordPress plugins screen or with `wp plugin get wp-smushit --field=version`
- Check whether the install is a multisite network with `wp core is-installed --network`

## Fix

- Update the Smush plugin to `4.3.4` or later

## Timeline

- 2026-10-23T21:57:12+00:00 nvd https://nvd.nist.gov/vuln/detail/CVE-2026-110039

## From the sources

The Smush WordPress plugin before 4.3.4 does not restrict changes to a network-wide access setting to network administrators, allowing an administrator of a single site on a multisite network to change it for the entire network.
