# WooCommerce Product Addons plugin: stored XSS via field type parameter

The Product Addons for WooCommerce plugin (all versions up to and including 3.1.8) does not sanitize the 'fields[section][fields][row][col][type]' parameter. An authenticated shop manager can store a script that runs in the browser of anyone who loads the injected page.

_Summary, check and fix written by a model from the sources; labelled as such._

## How to check

- Check the installed version of the 'Product Addons for Woocommerce' plugin in the WordPress admin under Plugins; affected if it is `3.1.8` or older.
- unknown

## Fix

- Update the 'Product Addons for Woocommerce – Product Options with Custom Fields' plugin to a version newer than `3.1.8`; the sources do not name the fixed version.

## Timeline

- 2026-10-28T07:31:38+00:00 nvd https://nvd.nist.gov/vuln/detail/CVE-2026-109988

## From the sources

The Product Addons for Woocommerce – Product Options with Custom Fields plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Stored Cross-Site Scripting via the 'fields[section][fields][row][col][type]' parameter in all versions up to, and including, 3.1.8 due to insufficient input sanitization and output escaping. This makes it possible for authenticated attackers, with shop manager-level access and above, to inject arbitrary web scripts in pages that will execute whenever a user accesses an injected page.
