# MAIO WordPress plugin: hardcoded API key exposes visitor analytics logs

The MAIO WordPress plugin before 7.3.22 accepts a credential that is published verbatim in its public source as a valid API key. An unauthenticated attacker can use it to download the stored crawl-analytics log, which includes each visitor's IP address, user agent and referer.

_Summary, check and fix written by a model from the sources; labelled as such._

## How to check

- Check the installed MAIO plugin version in the WordPress admin under Plugins; affected if below `7.3.22`
- unknown

## Fix

- Update the MAIO plugin to `7.3.22` or later
- Rotate any API key or credential used with the plugin, since the shipped value should be treated as public
- unknown

## Timeline

- 2026-10-23T21:57:12+00:00 nvd https://nvd.nist.gov/vuln/detail/CVE-2026-109930

## From the sources

The MAIO WordPress plugin before 7.3.22 does not properly restrict access to its analytics data, treating a credential value shipped verbatim in its own public source as a valid API key, which allows unauthenticated attackers to retrieve the stored crawl-analytics log, including each recorded visitor's IP address, user agent and referer.
