# Welcart e-Commerce WordPress plugin: SQL injection lets editors read database

The Welcart e-Commerce plugin for WordPress fails to escape the searchSql and searchSkuSql JSON fields passed to its wp_usces_order_old handler, in all versions up to and including 2.12.4. An authenticated user with editor-level access or above can append SQL to existing queries and extract sensitive data from the database.

_Summary, check and fix written by a model from the sources; labelled as such._

## How to check

- Check the installed Welcart e-Commerce plugin version in the WordPress admin Plugins screen or with `wp plugin get usc-e-shop`
- Confirm whether the installed version is `2.12.4` or earlier

## Fix

- Update the Welcart e-Commerce plugin to a version later than `2.12.4`, as listed on the WordPress plugin directory
- Review editor and above accounts and remove any that are not needed

## Timeline

- 2026-10-23T21:57:14+00:00 nvd https://nvd.nist.gov/vuln/detail/CVE-2026-107752

## From the sources

The Welcart e-Commerce plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to generic SQL Injection via the 'wp_usces_order_old (JSON fields searchSql / searchSkuSql)' parameter in all versions up to, and including, 2.12.4 due to insufficient escaping on the user supplied parameter and lack of sufficient preparation on the existing SQL query. This makes it possible for authenticated attackers, with editor-level access and above, to append additional SQL queries into already existing queries that can be used to extract sensitive information from the database.
