# WordPress email templates plugin lets anyone read customer order details

The Email Templates Customizer and Designer plugin for WordPress and WooCommerce does not check user authorization on its preview function, in all versions up to and including 1.5.14. An unauthenticated attacker can enumerate WooCommerce order IDs and read each customer's billing name, address, phone number and email address.

_Summary, check and fix written by a model from the sources; labelled as such._

## How to check

- Check the installed version of the Email Templates Customizer and Designer plugin in the WordPress admin plugin list, or with `wp plugin get <plugin-slug> --field=version`
- If the installed version is `1.5.14` or lower, the site is in the affected range

## Fix

- Move the plugin to a version newer than `1.5.14`; the sources do not name the fixed version

## From the sources

The Email Templates Customizer and Designer for WordPress and WooCommerce plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to authorization bypass in all versions up to, and including, 1.5.14 This is due to the plugin not properly verifying that a user is authorized to perform an action. This makes it possible for unauthenticated attackers to enumerate WooCommerce order IDs via the preview_order parameter and exfiltrate every customer's billing name, address, phone number, and email address. The exploit requires two unauthenticated requests: the first harvests a reusable nonce from the 302 Location header returned by the unguarded admin_init handler, and the second supplies that nonce alongside an arbitrary order ID to the preview endpoint, making full customer PII disclosure trivially achievable without any account or credentials.
