# Jupiter X Core WordPress plugin: stored XSS via forget_password_link

The Jupiter X Core WordPress plugin does not sanitize the 'forget_password_link' parameter up to version 4.61.0. An authenticated contributor can store scripts that run in the browser of any user who opens the injected page.

_Summary, check and fix written by a model from the sources; labelled as such._

## How to check

- Check the installed Jupiter X Core plugin version in the WordPress admin under Plugins; versions up to and including `4.61.0` are affected.
- Review pages for injected script content in the 'forget_password_link' field, if the sources say where it is stored: unknown.

## Fix

- Update the Jupiter X Core plugin to a version later than `4.61.0`; the exact fixed version: unknown.
- Review contributor accounts and remove any that are not trusted.

## Timeline

## From the sources

The Jupiter X Core plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Stored Cross-Site Scripting via the 'forget_password_link' parameter in all versions up to, and including, 4.61.0 due to insufficient input sanitization and output escaping. This makes it possible for authenticated attackers, with contributor-level access and above, to inject arbitrary web scripts in pages that will execute whenever a user accesses an injected page.
