# Awesome Support WordPress plugin: stored XSS via ticket file uploader

Awesome Support, a WordPress helpdesk plugin, does not sanitize the wpas_files parameter, so text saved there is later rendered as script. An attacker with a custom-level account can run JavaScript in the browser of any user who opens the injected page.

_Summary, check and fix written by a model from the sources; labelled as such._

## How to check

- Check the installed plugin version in the WordPress admin Plugins screen or with `wp plugin get awesome-support --field=version`
- In Awesome Support settings, check whether "Enable drag-n-drop uploader for ticket form" is turned on

## Fix

- Update the Awesome Support plugin to a version later than `6.4.1` (the sources do not name the exact fixed release)
- Until updated, turn off "Enable drag-n-drop uploader for ticket form"

## Timeline

- 2026-10-28T07:31:37+00:00 nvd https://nvd.nist.gov/vuln/detail/CVE-2026-103370

## From the sources

The Awesome Support – WordPress HelpDesk & Support Plugin plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Stored Cross-Site Scripting via the 'wpas_files' parameter in all versions up to, and including, 6.4.1 due to insufficient input sanitization and output escaping. This makes it possible for authenticated attackers, with custom-level access and above, to inject arbitrary web scripts in pages that will execute whenever a user accesses an injected page. This vulnerability is only exploitable when the "Enable drag-n-drop uploader for ticket form" setting is enabled, as it is disabled by default.
