# Phoca Download for Joomla: CSRF in category management lets attackers change categories

Phoca Download, a Joomla extension, does not protect its category management actions against cross-site request forgery in versions 3.1.0 through 6.1.5. An attacker can trick a logged-in administrator into submitting a request that changes download categories.

_Summary, check and fix written by a model from the sources; labelled as such._

## How to check

- Check the installed Phoca Download version in the Joomla extensions manager (Extensions > Manage) and compare it with the affected range 3.1.0 to 6.1.5
- Confirm whether the site runs Joomla with Phoca Download installed at all, using the extensions list

## Fix

- Update Phoca Download to a version later than `6.1.5` once the vendor publishes it (fixed version unknown in the sources)
- Until updated, have administrators log out of the Joomla backend after use and avoid browsing other sites while logged in

## Timeline
