# Oracle E-Business Suite Shipping Execution: Workflow Events flaw enables crash and data access

A flaw in the Workflow Events component of Oracle Shipping Execution, part of Oracle E-Business Suite versions 12.2.3 through 12.2.15, can be reached over HTTP by a low-privileged user. A successful attack can crash or hang the service and read or change some of the data it holds, and can affect other products.

_Summary, check and fix written by a model from the sources; labelled as such._

## How to check

- Confirm the installed Oracle E-Business Suite release is within `12.2.3` to `12.2.15` (the sources do not say where to read it in the instance)
- Check whether Oracle Shipping Execution is in use on the instance (unknown from the sources)

## Fix

- Apply the Oracle Critical Patch Update fix for CVE-2026-101837 to Oracle E-Business Suite (the sources do not name the patch number or the fixed release)
- Check the Oracle Security Alert advisory for the patch details (unknown from the sources)

## Timeline

While the vulnerability is in Oracle Shipping Execution, attacks may significantly impact additional products (scope change). Successful attacks of this vulnerability can result in unauthorized ability to cause a hang or frequently repeatable crash (complete DOS) of Oracle Shipping Execution as well as unauthorized update, insert or delete access to some of Oracle Shipping Execution accessible data and unauthorized read access to a subset of Oracle Shipping Execution accessible data. CVSS 3.1 Base Score 7.7 (Confidentiality, Integrity and Availability impacts). CVSS Vector: (CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:H/PR:L/UI:N/S:C/C:L/I:L/A:H).
