# MySQL Router: unauthenticated network attacker can alter and read data

MySQL Router version 26.7.0 has a flaw in its General component that can be reached over HTTPS. An unauthenticated attacker with network access can gain unauthorized read and write access to data the router handles.

## How to check

- Run `mysqlrouter --version` and compare against the affected version `26.7.0`.
- Check whether the HTTPS interface of MySQL Router is reachable from untrusted networks.

## Fix

- Upgrade MySQL Router to a release newer than `26.7.0` as published in Oracle's Critical Patch Update advisory.
- Restrict network access to the MySQL Router HTTPS endpoint until patched.

Vulnerability in the MySQL Router product of Oracle MySQL (component: Router: General).   The supported version that is affected is 26.7.0. Difficult to exploit vulnerability allows unauthenticated attacker with network access via HTTPS to compromise MySQL Router.  Successful attacks of this vulnerability can result in  unauthorized creation, deletion or modification access to critical data or all MySQL Router accessible data as well as  unauthorized access to critical data or complete access to all MySQL Router accessible data. CVSS 3.1 Base Score 7.4 (Confidentiality and Integrity impacts).  CVSS Vector: (CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:H/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:N).
