# Helidon: health component lets unauthenticated network users read some data

Oracle Helidon's helidon-health component exposes a subset of data to unauthenticated HTTP requests from the network. An attacker can read some Helidon-accessible information but cannot change it, per the CVSS vector (confidentiality impact only).

_Summary, check and fix written by a model from the sources; labelled as such._

## How to check

- Check the Helidon version in the project's pom.xml or build file; affected versions are 3.0.0 through 3.2.21, 4.0.0 through 4.5.5, and 27.0.0.
- Confirm whether the application uses the helidon-health dependency and exposes its health endpoints over HTTP.

## Fix

- Upgrade Helidon to a release outside the affected ranges (fixed version unknown from the sources; check Oracle's advisory).
- Restrict access to health endpoints at the network or proxy layer until patched.

## From the sources

Vulnerability in the Helidon product of Oracle Fusion Middleware (component: helidon-health). Supported versions that are affected are 3.0.0-3.2.21, 4.0.0-4.5.5 and 27.0.0. Easily exploitable vulnerability allows unauthenticated attacker with network access via HTTP to compromise Helidon. Successful attacks of this vulnerability can result in unauthorized read access to a subset of Helidon accessible data. CVSS 3.1 Base Score 5.3 (Confidentiality impacts). CVSS Vector: (CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:L/I:N/A:N).
