# Oracle E-Business Suite: Application Object Library flaw lets local users take over

Oracle Application Object Library, part of Oracle E-Business Suite, has a flaw in its database privileges component. A low-privileged user who can log on to the host running it can take over the product, with full read, write and availability impact.

_Summary, check and fix written by a model from the sources; labelled as such._

## How to check

- Confirm the Oracle E-Business Suite release level in use; the sources say versions 12.2.3 through 12.2.15 are affected
- Check whether any application or database accounts with low privileges can log on to the EBS application tier host
- Review the Oracle Critical Patch Update advisory for the patch that covers this CVE (unknown from the sources)

## Fix

- Apply the Oracle Critical Patch Update fix for Oracle Application Object Library in EBS 12.2.x (exact patch name unknown from the sources)
- Restrict logon access to EBS application tier hosts to administrators until patched

## Timeline
