# Oracle Trusted Answer Search: low-privilege network user can modify, delete or crash

Oracle Trusted Answer Search 26.1 has a flaw in a PL/SQL package reachable over Oracle Net. A low-privileged network attacker can create, change or delete critical data, read some data, and hang or repeatedly crash the service. Scope change: other components may be affected. Fixed through the October 2026 Critical Patch Update.

_Summary, check and fix written by a model from the sources; labelled as such._

## Affected

- vendor:Oracle Trusted Answer Search affected 26.1 fixed ?

## How to check

Check whether you run Oracle Trusted Answer Search version 26.1 and whether its Oracle Net listener is reachable by low-privileged accounts. Compare your installed patch level to the October 2026 CPU patch availability document on My Oracle Support.

## Fix

Apply the Oracle October 2026 Critical Patch Update for Trusted Answer Search from My Oracle Support. The exact patch number and fixed version are unknown (needs MOS access). Until then, restrict Oracle Net access to trusted application hosts and review low-privileged accounts.
