# Oracle PeopleSoft PeopleTools Portal: low-privilege users can alter some data

A flaw in the Portal component of Oracle PeopleSoft PeopleTools versions 8.61 through 8.63 lets a logged-in low-privileged user reach data over HTTP. A successful attack can read and change some data the product can access, and can affect other products, but requires a person other than the attacker to take an action.

_Summary, check and fix written by a model from the sources; labelled as such._

## How to check

- Check the PeopleTools version in the PeopleSoft environment; `unknown` for the exact command, as the sources do not say.
- Confirm whether the installed PeopleTools is within 8.61-8.63.

## Fix

- Apply the Oracle Critical Patch Update fix for PeopleSoft PeopleTools 8.61-8.63 (patch identifiers unknown from the sources).

## Timeline
