# Oracle PeopleSoft PeopleTools: SQR component flaw lets low-privileged users reach all data

A flaw in the SQR component of Oracle PeopleSoft PeopleTools versions 8.61 to 8.63 lets a low-privileged user with network access over HTTP compromise the application. An attacker can create, delete or modify critical data and read all data PeopleTools can access, and the impact can extend to other products.

_Summary, check and fix written by a model from the sources; labelled as such._

## Affected

- vendor:PeopleSoft Enterprise PeopleTools affected >= 8.61, <= 8.63 fixed ?

## How to check

Find your PeopleTools release and patch level (PeopleTools > About PeopleTools, or the DPK/installation records). 8.61, 8.62 and 8.63 are all affected until the October 2026 CPU is applied. Whether SQR is in use or exposed over HTTP is unknown; Oracle does not say how to check that.

## Fix

Apply the October 2026 Oracle Critical Patch Update for PeopleSoft PeopleTools from My Oracle Support (PeopleSoft CPU patch availability document; PeopleTools patches home page, KA614). Exact patch IDs and fixed patch levels: unknown, need MOS access. Note that the October CPU is delivered through the Middleware DPK: 8.61.23 or earlier and 8.62.13 or earlier need enablement patch 40124711 (8.61) or 40124744 (8.62) first.
