# Oracle REST Data Services: unauthenticated write access to data over HTTP

Oracle REST Data Services has a flaw in its Backend-as-a-Service component that a remote attacker can reach over HTTP without logging in. A successful attack can create, change or delete data that the service can access.

_Summary, check and fix written by a model from the sources; labelled as such._

## How to check

- Check the installed Oracle REST Data Services version against the affected range `24.2.0` through `26.1.0`
- Confirm whether the Backend-as-a-Service component is enabled on the deployment, which the sources do not specify

## Fix

- Move to a fixed Oracle REST Data Services release from Oracle's advisory; the fixed version is unknown from the sources

## Timeline
