# FiboSearch WooCommerce search plugin: stored XSS via purchased_plan parameter

The FiboSearch WordPress plugin up to and including 1.34.2 does not sanitize the purchased_plan parameter before storing and outputting it. A logged-in Subscriber can inject script that runs in the browser of anyone who loads the affected page, including administrators.

_Summary, check and fix written by a model from the sources; labelled as such._

## How to check

- Check the installed FiboSearch version in the WordPress admin plugin list or with `wp plugin get ajax-search-for-woocommerce --field=version`
- Confirm whether the Freemius opt-in flow was completed on the site (unknown from the sources)

## Fix

- Update FiboSearch (ajax-search-for-woocommerce) to a version later than `1.34.2`; the fixed version number is unknown from the sources
- Until patched, restrict Subscriber-level accounts or review them for suspicious use (unknown from the sources whether this is sufficient)

## Timeline

- 2026-10-23T21:57:12+00:00 nvd https://nvd.nist.gov/vuln/detail/CVE-2026-100106

## From the sources

The FiboSearch – Ajax Search for WooCommerce plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Stored Cross-Site Scripting via the 'purchased_plan' parameter in all versions up to, and including, 1.34.2 due to insufficient input sanitization and output escaping. This makes it possible for authenticated attackers, with subscriber-level access and above, to inject arbitrary web scripts in pages that will execute whenever a user accesses an injected page. Exploitation requires that the site owner has previously completed the standard Freemius opt-in flow; once that condition is met, any Subscriber can reach the vulnerable handler simply by loading /wp-admin/profile.php with the requisite query parameters.
