# WP2LEADS WordPress plugin: SQL injection lets subscribers read database contents

The WP2LEADS plugin for WordPress passes the 'order' parameter into a SQL query without proper escaping, so it can be used for time-based SQL injection. A logged-in user with Subscriber-level access can append queries to extract sensitive data from the site's database.

_Summary, check and fix written by a model from the sources; labelled as such._

## How to check

- Check the installed WP2LEADS plugin version in the WordPress admin Plugins screen or `wp plugin get wp2leads --field=version`
- Confirm whether any users with Subscriber accounts can register or log in on the site

## Fix

- WP2LEADS plugin: versions after `3.5.6` (fixed version not stated in the sources; check the vendor's release notes)

## Timeline

- 2026-10-31T08:34:27+00:00 nvd https://nvd.nist.gov/vuln/detail/CVE-2025-9462

## From the sources

The WP2LEADS plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to time-based SQL Injection via the ‘order’ parameter in all versions up to, and including, 3.5.6 due to insufficient escaping on the user supplied parameter and lack of sufficient preparation on the existing SQL query. This makes it possible for authenticated attackers, with Subscriber-level access and above, to append additional SQL queries into already existing queries that can be used to extract sensitive information from the database.
