# ARKETEAM Protectel: stored XSS in note editor lets low-privilege users run scripts

The note editor in ARKETEAM Protectel modules PROTECTELMAJ and BDF does not sanitize note content, so injected HTML and JavaScript are stored. When a user opens that module, the script runs in their browser.

_Summary, check and fix written by a model from the sources; labelled as such._

## How to check

- Check the installed version of the PROTECTELMAJ module and the BDF module against the fixed versions below.

## Fix

- PROTECTELMAJ: `6.5.19`
- BDF: `6.4.67`

## Timeline

- 2026-10-30T12:30:22+00:00 nvd https://nvd.nist.gov/vuln/detail/CVE-2025-68395

## From the sources

ARKETEAM Protectel modules PROTECTELMAJ and BDF contain a note editor module vulnerable to Stored XSS. A low privileged attacker can inject arbitrary HTML and JS into notes, which will be rendered/executed when a user visits this module.
This issue has been fixed in: PROTECTELMAJ v6.5.19 and BDF v6.4.67
