# ARKETEAM Protectel modules: arbitrary file upload lets users overwrite temporary files

The PROTECTELMAJ and BDF modules of ARKETEAM Protectel let any user upload arbitrary files and overwrite existing files in a temporary folder. An attacker can plant embedded JavaScript that runs when an authenticated user downloads the uploaded file.

_Summary, check and fix written by a model from the sources; labelled as such._

## How to check

- Confirm whether the ARKETEAM Protectel PROTECTELMAJ or BDF module is installed in your environment
- Check the installed PROTECTELMAJ version against `6.5.19` and the BDF version against `6.4.67`

## Fix

- PROTECTELMAJ: move to `6.5.19` or later
- BDF: move to `6.4.67` or later

## Timeline
