# A memory corruption issue was addressed with improved lock state checking

Apple's iOS, iPadOS, macOS, watchOS, tvOS and visionOS have an improper locking bug that lets a malicious app change memory shared between processes. CISA lists it as actively exploited, so attackers are using it in the wild.

_Summary, check and fix written by a model from the sources; labelled as such._

## Affected

- vendor:Apple Multiple Products affected ? fixed ?
- vendor:apple ipados affected < 18.7.2 fixed 18.7.2
- vendor:apple ipados affected = 26.0 fixed ?
- vendor:apple iphone os affected < 18.7.2 fixed 18.7.2
- vendor:apple iphone os affected = 26.0 fixed ?
- vendor:apple macos affected >= 14.0, < 14.8.2 fixed 14.8.2
- vendor:apple macos affected >= 15.0, < 15.7.2 fixed 15.7.2
- vendor:apple macos affected = 26.0 fixed ?
- vendor:apple tvos affected < 26.1 fixed 26.1
- vendor:apple visionos affected < 26.1 fixed 26.1
- vendor:apple watchos affected < 26.1 fixed 26.1

## How to check

Check each device's OS version under Settings > General > About (iOS/iPadOS) or About This Mac (macOS) and compare against Apple's security release notes.

## Fix

Update all Apple devices to the latest OS release that Apple lists as fixing CVE-2025-43510; the fixed version numbers are not in the sources.

## From the sources

Apple watchOS, iOS, iPadOS, macOS, visionOS, and tvOS contain an improper locking vulnerability that could allow a malicious application to cause unexpected changes in memory shared between processes.

CISA required action: Apply mitigations per vendor instructions, follow applicable BOD 22-01 guidance for cloud services, or discontinue use of the product if mitigations are unavailable.
