# paloaltonetworks expedition: An SQL injection vulnerability in Palo Alto Networks Expedition allows an unauthenticated attacker to reveal…

Palo Alto Networks Expedition, a firewall migration and management tool, has a SQL injection flaw that lets an unauthenticated attacker read its database, including password hashes, usernames, device configurations and device API keys. The same flaw lets attackers create and read arbitrary files on the Expedition system.

_Summary, check and fix written by a model from the sources; labelled as such._

## Affected

- vendor:Palo Alto Networks Expedition affected ? fixed ?
- vendor:paloaltonetworks expedition affected >= 1.2.0, < 1.2.96 fixed 1.2.96

## How to check

Confirm whether Expedition is installed on your network using the vendor product list; the sources do not give a version check command.

## Fix

Apply the vendor mitigations from Palo Alto Networks, or stop using Expedition if no mitigation is available, as CISA requires.

## From the sources

Palo Alto Networks Expedition contains a SQL injection vulnerability that allows an unauthenticated attacker to reveal Expedition database contents, such as password hashes, usernames, device configurations, and device API keys. With this, attackers can also create and read arbitrary files on the Expedition system.

CISA required action: Apply mitigations per vendor instructions or discontinue use of the product if mitigations are unavailable.
