# Microsoft Silverlight: Microsoft Silverlight Information Disclosure Vulnerability

Microsoft Silverlight fails to validate pointers when accessing Silverlight elements, so a crafted Silverlight application can leak sensitive memory contents. An attacker who gets a user to run such an application can read information from the browser process.

_Summary, check and fix written by a model from the sources; labelled as such._

## Affected

- vendor:Microsoft Silverlight affected ? fixed ?

## How to check

Check whether Microsoft Silverlight is installed on any machine, for example under C:\Program Files\Microsoft Silverlight or in the browser add-on list.

## Fix

Uninstall Microsoft Silverlight, since the product is end-of-life and CISA says to disconnect it if still in use.

## From the sources

Microsoft Silverlight does not properly validate pointers during access to Silverlight elements, which allows remote attackers to obtain sensitive information via a crafted Silverlight application.

CISA required action: The impacted product is end-of-life and should be disconnected if still in use.
