On 29 Oct 2026, starting about 20:24 UTC, billions in crypto left Binance hot wallets on Ethereum, Bitcoin and Tron within minutes. On-chain tallies put it at $3.3B to $5.57B (ETH, BTC, USDT, USDC and 60+ tokens). If confirmed, it is the largest crypto theft on record. Tether and Circle froze about $1.8B in the receiving wallet. Arkham labels the receiver 'Binance-hacker-1029', and the wallet that started the transfers was funded through Tornado Cash. Binance says it is investigating a 'potential security issue' and has not confirmed any impact on user funds. Changpeng Zhao calls it a hack and says user funds are safe.
